Dry conditions will lead to near-critical fire weather conditions today. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 25 percent are expected with dry fuels. Northwest winds of 10 mph with gusts to 15 mph are forecast for this afternoon. Together, these conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Relative humidity values will drop to 20 to 25 percent range this afternoon. Northwest winds of 10 mph with gusts to 15 to 20 mph are forecast for today. ...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY... .Southerly winds with gusts around 40 to 45 mph are expected tomorrow ahead of an approaching front. Relative humidity values will fall to 25 to 30 percent across portions of Minnesota during the afternoon. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for western Minnesota. Any small amount of moisture increase associated with the front will be short lived as northwest winds bring lower dew points back into Minnesota and Wisconsin Friday. Temperatures Friday are forecast to be in the 80s area wide, leading to RH values falling below 20 percent.
