Critical fire weather conditions will return today due to southeasterly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Minimum relative humidity is forecast to drop down as low as 15 percent. Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Stronger winds and continued low relative humidity are then expected for Thursday and Friday across all of western through central North Dakota, including the James River Valley. Therefore, a Fire Weather Watch has been issued Thursday through Friday as well. * WINDS...West 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * AFFECTED AREA...Much of central North Dakota, including the James River Valley. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control or suppress.

Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Minor to no flooding is expected at these levels, but water may begin to overflow into nearby low-lying marshland, parkland or floodplain areas with little to no impact.
